Can I recycle used printer cartridges?

Yes you can! Be sure not to throw away your used printer cartridges as they can be recycled, so there is no need to send them to the landfill. And what’s more you can give money to charity just by giving away your used printer cartridges — and it won’t cost you a penny.

Here’s how to recycle your used printer cartridges

Step 1

Organise a single point to store all the used cartridges for your business location. You can organise to have your printer cartridges collected for free but you’ll want to have a good colection of them before you arrange collection, otherwise it’s a bit wasteful on petrol consumption.

Step 2

Choose a charity to collect your cartridges. If you’re current supplier of printer cartridges is providing you with envelopes and asking you to send the empty cartridges back, don’t take that guff any longer! You could be donating some serious cash to charity just by giving your empty cartridges to a charitable organisation.

If you decide to use one of these charity-linked printer cartridge services, remember to check it out yourself and choose one that will make the most of the money they make.

Step 3

You’ll either have to post your cartridges or in many cases you can have a free collection arranged.
