…or else.

Monday the 9th of June is National Liftshare Day. So, while you might drive on your own to work 251 of the 252 working days of the year for convenience reasons, maybe you could make a special effort on this one day. You might find that car sharing isn’t so bad after all!
If you’re having problems finding other people to share a lift with, sign up to the liftshare website to find other members in your area — they don’t necessarily have to work at the same place as you.
If you’re already car sharing and would like to help other people do the same, use these promotional materials to spread awareness:
- Download your free Free National Liftshare Day Poster
- Send this email to your colleagues at work
- Invite your friends to join liftshare
- Encourage your boss to administer a private liftshare system using this business case
And finally the most obvious one of all: JOIN LIFTSHARE and enter your car journey route so that other members can find you.
How much could you save?
I just logged in to my liftshare account (which I had forgotten I was already a member of). The website automatically calculates your savings for you. Here’s what it says for me:
If you shared all of your journeys with at least 1 person, you could save an estimated: £614.55, 4,262.47 miles, 121.78 gallons of petrol, 1.30 tonne of CO2 and 13.06 pounds of NOx each year.
And that is for a short ten mile journey and sharing with just one passenger. If you ask me that’s quite impressive.
Give lift sharing a try this coming monday. It only takes a minute to sign-up to liftshare.org.
