It was announced last Friday (the 29th of February) evening that we had been awarded 1st prize for the Wiltshire Business of the Year Environmental Category.
Here’s a small run-down of some of the things we’ve been doing recently to be more environmentally friendly:
Installing solar panels on our office roof
At the end of last year we had solar panels installed on our office roof that heat our water. If you’re interested in finding out whether it’s worth purchasing solar panels for your business or home, we’re posting up weekly reports on how well ours is doing, so you can decide whether you would benefit from solar power.
We donated £1 to Cancer Research for every one of our customers who signed up for electronic documents
By signing up for electronic documents we don’t have to send our customer paper invoices and statements. This wastes less paper and reduces our carbon footprint. Electronic documents are also easier to manage because they save straight to your PC.

We did the same thing with SIMS updates
Rather than having the latest SIMS updates burned to a CD and posted, our customers can now choose to have SIMS updates emailed to them. Again, we’re donating £1 to Cancer Research for every customer who switches, to encourage eco-friendliness.

We started Go Green
In order to encourage eco-friendliness and awareness of environmental issues we started Go Green, this blog. We also use Go Green to help our employees work more eco-friendly in the office by posting tutorials on things like, “How to Print double sided” and “How to make your emails more eco-friendly“.
If you have an interest in eco-friendly matters, subscribe to Go Green today.
